In hydraulic systems, the material selection of Hydraulic Hose is directly related to the performance and safety of the system. Different fluid types have different requirements for the material of hydraulic hoses. The correct selection can ensure the long-term and stable operation of the hydraulic system.
First of all, for petroleum-based hydraulic oil, hydraulic hoses made of nitrile rubber (NBR) are a common choice. Nitrile rubber has good oil resistance, wear resistance and pressure resistance. Petroleum-based hydraulic oil contains various chemical components, and nitrile rubber can resist the erosion of these components and prevent the expansion, hardening and rupture of the hose. In high-pressure hydraulic systems, the use of nitrile rubber hoses can ensure good sealing performance and reduce the risk of leakage. For example, in the hydraulic system of construction machinery, hoses of this material are often used to transport hydraulic oil, and they can maintain stable performance even in harsh working environments.
For water-ethylene glycol hydraulic fluid, ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM) is a more suitable material. Water-ethylene glycol hydraulic fluid has a certain degree of corrosiveness, and ethylene propylene rubber has excellent tolerance to this hydraulic fluid. It can maintain good flexibility and elasticity in this special fluid environment, avoiding hose damage caused by chemical reactions. At the same time, EPDM also has good aging resistance. For long-term hydraulic systems, it can reduce the frequency of hose replacement and reduce maintenance costs.
When it comes to phosphate ester hydraulic fluid, fluororubber (FKM) material shows excellent performance. Phosphate ester hydraulic fluid is usually used in some occasions with high requirements for fire resistance and flame retardancy, such as hydraulic systems in aerospace and other fields. Fluororubber has excellent high temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and flame retardancy, and can work safely and reliably in the environment of phosphate ester hydraulic fluid. It can withstand high temperature and high pressure conditions, and will not burn easily when encountering a fire source, providing additional safety for the hydraulic system.
For gas media such as air, hydraulic hoses made of polyurethane (PU) are a good choice. Polyurethane hoses have good flexibility and wear resistance, and can adapt to the pressure changes caused by the rapid flow of gas in the pipeline. Moreover, its smooth inner wall can reduce the resistance of gas flow and improve the efficiency of the system. In some pneumatic control systems, polyurethane hoses are widely used to ensure the smooth delivery of gas.
