What is the difference between air brake and disc brake?

1. The reaction speed is different.
Gas flows faster than liquid. The body of the truck is longer and larger. When the disc brake is used, the hydraulic pump needs to be made very large. The hydraulic oil of the oil pump needs to fill the piston, and a circuit is needed, so that the braking speed cannot keep up.
The air brake can directly discharge the gas during operation, and does not need a circuit like oil, only need to make the cylinder bigger, and the exhaust speed can be several times faster than the hydraulic brake.
2. The required pressure is different.
The hydraulic pressure required by the hydraulic brake is provided by the brake oil only. The pressure provided by the brake oil is relatively small, without the amplification effect of the jack, and is only suitable for small and medium-sized vehicles. The air brake is relatively rough, and the generated air pressure is very high. The force of up to eight atmospheres can output a large braking force.
The principle of the hydraulic brake is how strong the foot is, plus the vacuum booster, the braking effect cannot be compared with the air brake. The air brake pedal is mainly to control the opening of the air valve, so it can generate a large braking force without vigorously pressing the pedal.
